Youth travel offers great potential

Talking at ITB Asia on Wednesday, Adam Armstrong, CEO, Contiki Holidays, confirmed that the youth segment has experienced a strong rebound in 2022 and is set for continued growth in 2023. In his presentation, Armstrong listed many reasons for travel businesses to include the youth segment in their priority list. He said: “There are loads of young people, they want to make memorable experiences, they will generally find the money, they are desperate to travel, they remain optimistic, they look for remote working locations, … and above all, it is a lucrative and fun market.”

In 2023, Armstrong sees demand returning to normal levels following this year’s strong recovery. The most attractive destinations are likely to remain in Europe, which tops young people’s travel lists, as well as Thailand and Vietnam in Asia.
