Hello and welcome to this second day of ITB Asia,
Everyone attending the first day of ITB Asia 2022 yesterday could see for themselves that the travel industry’s response has been extremely positive. The stands and conferences were bustling with visitors, and business meetings were taking place throughout the halls. ITB Asia is back as a major meeting place for the travel industry. The strong attendance is also a sign that international tourism for Asian markets is experiencing a strong rebound. This has been echoed by exhibitors and visitors, pleased to finally meet again face to face.
The show continues today, with many talks and conferences taking place. One of the main topics this morning is linked to the pandemic and its aftermath. In the C-Suite Talk session at Travel Tech Asia Theatre at 10:00 a.m., Agoda CCO Damien Pfirsch will analyse customers’ changing travel habits. Also at 10:00 a.m., at the MICE Show Asia Theatre, Vinay Dixit from Abbott Rapid Diagnostic will analyse how MICE activities find solutions to build business resilience in an endemic world.
Meanwhile, at the end of the 10:00 a.m. Panel Discussion “Beyond Sustainability – Meaningful Tourism as the “New Normal” Offering Benefits for All Stakeholders at the ITB Asia Knowledge Theatre, we will reveal the names of the 18 winners of Meaningful Tourism Awards 2022. These discussions aim to identify positive and creative solutions to the challenges facing the tourism industry, such as overtourism, cultural and environmental damage, as well as staff shortages.
Everyone is invited to step forward and learn about future trends related to changing tourism dynamics. This way visitors will be able to anticipate what promises to be a fabulous travel year 2023.
